The “Delivering Vegalta Sendai to Thai Children with Goshii Okubo (YUKI FOOTBALL ACADEMY) & Baan Dek Foundation” project was carried out in Chiang Mai, Thailand!
This project started in May last year with the J-League club Vegalta Sendai and YUKI FOOTBALL ACADEMY.
The project was started in May last year by the J-League club Vegalta Sendai and YUKI FOOTBALL ACADEMY to deliver goods used by Vegalta Sendai supporters to children in a slum in Thailand. Even though it was a weekday night game, more than 1,600 items of goods were collected.
The goods filled with precious memories of Vegalta Sendai supporters will be delivered to children in a slum camp in Chiang Mai with the cooperation of the Baan Dek Foundation in Thailand, and on December 12, 2022, our Academy Director Takeshi Okubo On December 12, 2022, Mr. Takeshi Okubo, Academy Director, Mr. Naoki Sugai, a long-time key player of Vegalta Sendai who is now retired as a front desk staff, and two staff members of Vegalta Sendai visited the facility and attended a soccer school.
Prior to the tour of the facilities, the Berndeck Foundation staff explained about the camp and the actual conditions of the children.
When we headed to the field where the soccer school was to be held, we were greeted by smiling children wearing the uniforms of Vegalta Sendai, which were donated by the supporters of the camp.
The children were smiling and cheering for their team, and older brothers and sisters were taking care of younger children, giving us a lot of power.
